Hi,
in opus04 pro :
- my project is a 800 x 600
- i want to use big picture in a slideshow (like 2592 x 1944)
- i use "scale to fit" for all the picture in the slide show
- i publish with the option "Enable image resizing"

result : the published file size is as bigger as if i don't use "enable image resizing" . It seems that opus keep the full big picture (the size of the published file is as bigger as all the original picture).

I think you are mixing two different OPUS features. First, you can have an Image or Slideshow with either Fixed or "Scale to Fit." The latter uses a lot of resources to reduce/expand your original photo/image to the size you want in OPUS. With lots of very large photos all being re-sized when a Slideshow appears, for example, it can almost stop an older computer. It is highly suggested/recommended that you us PaintShop Pro or PhotoShop to physically re-size any image to the size you want in OPUS, then use the Fixed option for maximum performance.

When discussing "Enable Image Resizing," I believe you are referring to the options in Chapters. By default, whatever you make your Pub when you start (800x600 pixels for example), will be the way it appears on monitors set for 800x600. It will appear in the center (with borders) of monitors with higher resolution settings, and it will have scroll bars on the right side and bottom if the resolution is lower.

Under Chapters, if you tick/check "Resizing" (both horizontally and vertically) then the Pub will expand to fill the entire screen on higher resolution screens. There is no border unless you set a Maximum Width. Let's say your 800x600 original Pub is displayed on a monitor set for 1152x864. If you set 1024x768 as the Max Width, then there would be a border around the pub. If there was no Max Width, then it would expand to fill the entire monitor.

Anytime you resize something on a computer screen (except in the movies - ha ha) there is some distortion. The more you expand an image, the more distored it becomes. OPUS text will also become distorted unless you set Antialising to Level 1.

I am not referring to the options in chapters. I am refering to the option in the publish tab "enable image resizing". According to the manual this feature "allows an image to be resized from its original size in your publication" That normaly allow you to reduce the resource of the computer for the published file because it has no more need to resize pictures.

Was it a .jpg? Opus just copies JPEGs into the final file because to do any kind of processing on it and recompress would affect the quality too much.
