Heelo,
I have a created a set of Cue Cards for a client who develops software. One of my clients would like to be able to be able to use the cue cards in a "context-sensitive" manner, in which his software application would link to a specific page of the pub instead of the first page. I don't think it's possible, but I hope it is. Is it?
Thanks a bunch,
Mike

Hi

I only know how this can be done between 2 Opus publications by setting parameters in the first Opus pub and passing these to be read by the second Opus pub. If your client is using a third-party application, I'm unsure how they could pass these parameters to an Opus pub, if at all.

The only other context-sensitive format I've used in Opus is the Help File one. If you have a separate help file (WinHelp or HTML Help), an action to summon it from within Opus can be scripted to open a specific help file page.

Possibly, some of the more experienced Forum members or the DW support team can comment further on a viable solution.

Kind Regards

Hi Stephen, thanks for the quick reply. Maybe the client will want to convert the cards to help files then, which would mean more work and money for me!

See help info on "Passing Parameters – Introduction"
Your specified task can be achieved via this... You will need to tool the publication to work with the variables that take it to page x/y/z...

example: (only displays the command line options.... you will hence need to tell the publication what to do based on the imput

D:\OPUS-DEV\command line call\my_call>my_call.exe /Page2 /exec /trial
