I think this is a stupid question but I cannot find the insert from variable entry in the context menue of my textfields any longer.

I know this entry was there before because I used insert from variable in the past. But now it seems that I have lost it.

Any hints how to get it back?

Thanks in advance.

OK, I found out the reason for this bevaviour.

To get the insert from variable entry it is not enough to mark the text object with one mouseclick but one has to click twice into it so that the entry cursor appears. Only then the insert from variable entry is visible in the right click menu.

This is a little bit strange because other entries like insert from file do not need this doubleclick action. :?

The Insert Variable function is more like the Create Hypertext than Insert from File - it needs to know where to insert the variable - so you must be in text edit mode to insert a variable.

OK, I see your point. It was only that I was a little bit confused about the seemingliy missing entry.
