 Post subject: Cover Dialogues
PostPosted: February 1st, 2007, 6:34 am
For years I've had an ongoing issue with cover dialogues. When one of my pubs loads, I like to display my own cover dialogue. Because Opus is such a great program, I would also like to display the Opus default cover dialogue, and Opus provides a means for doing this.

Because I can find no way of controlling the placement of these 2 images relative to each other, the results of displaying both is usually unacceptable. I therefore disable the default dialogue. That's a pity because Opus misses out on some free advertising.

Invariably, I have space on my dialogue image to include the Opus logo, but I have to leave it off because it just doesn't fit.

I'm posting this in the hope that someone has found a solution or work around to this.

PS: I'm not really interested in editing my graphics to include the DW logo.

I wonder if this would work. Create an animated GIF. Multiple copies of the Opus splash then multiple copies of your branding. (multiple for timing purposes)

This sounds like a good idea.

I have no problem making a graphic for my own branding and placing the DW logo on it. However, it might have been more convenient if DW provided an option where we could nominate the X/Y coordinates for their logo so that we could put it where it suits us.

Just a thought -- after all, showing the DW logo doesn't really benefit me.

Hi Ray, nice to read your post.
What I usually do is this:
1-I create a quick application in Opus who will be the first to launch before the "Main Pub" is launched. This quick pub contains my logo and any other information like "wait...publication is loading", etc. This way you can give this pre-window any size you like to fit your logo and any other info or to pre-load videos, etc. You decide how long this runs for.
I embed the command, show for X seconds and then launch Main.exe or whatever you want to call it.

2-After a certain time, mi "Intro pub" in 1 containing my logo disappears and the Main Publications starts.

Easy and very practical.
