Opus: Opus Pro 9
OS: Win 10/64
Today I tried to run opus under my new Vista OS. Unfortunately it does not work as expected. When trying to browse for some images opus crashes everytime.

Does someone use opus with Vista? Is a work around or a patch available?

T.

Have you reported it to support? Send us some details and preferably some examples of the images. Were you browsing with the thumbnail preview option?

I'm afraid we can't fix what we don't know, so no there isn't a patch at present :-)

Opus: Opus Pro 9
OS: Win 10/64
Addendum:

1. I use Vista Home Premium

2. Opus crashes everytime I click on the "Browse" button to choose an image.

This appears even in a complete new and empty publication.

Image browsing (and maybe more) seems not to work with Vista.

Hi

I too am having trouble with running Opus Pro XE on Windows Vista. Trying to resize the window and browsing for a file to link a web browser inserted on a page in an Opus publication seem to freeze the whole program. Is there a problem with running Opus on Windows Vista?

Best wishes

Chris

No, it appears Vista won't currently run Opus properly, even in XP emulation mode.

The more drivers you can update the better Vista gets but we don't recommend Vista for any of our products at present especially if you have any hardware components older than about a year.

We are looking into it and will keep you posted.

To be precise - some installations of Vista don't appear to work with Opus and the Help file won't work at all as Microsoft have removed support for WinHelp32.

Have you registered and updated your installation and updated all drivers?

Yes, my apologies. We have customers running Opus on Vista without problems. There seems to be an issue with some drivers, particularly for older machines and it seems you also need to have updated Vista from the boxed version.

Can you let us know if this fixes the problems you've been having.

We're bringing in some additional test machines to try to pin down any problems.

Paul,

thanks a lot for your reply. The machine on which I tested Opus + Vista is about a half year old. I have installed all available Vista-updates. I have not problems with any other application except Opus which crashes everytime I try to browse for images.
