Ok I've been using Opus Pro 5.5 for a few months now and I've come got to grips with a lot of it's features. I dunno if it's just one of those days where I can't think but I'm struggling with something. I'm creating a very basic publication where the user will drag/drop 5 'strengths' and 5 'weaknesses' into boxes (I work at a College so this is something some students have to do)... underneath this table I want the same 5 weaknesses to appear and next to these the student has a text input box where they can state how they'd turn the weakness into a strength. Anyway... the way I 'wanted' it to work was that when the text is dropped in the frame, it would be put into a variable and the 5 input boxes below would call these 5 weakness variables so they'd display there as soon as the student drops it (...am I making sense?)

I can't seem to work out how to make what gets dropped into the initial 5 boxes become variables so I can call them below (...I need to get off this computer and out in the sun! 8))

Any advice?

Hi Darryl,

Have included the bases of what I think you were explaining. It'll need work but will show the text when a certain box is dropped. There are other ways of doing this depending on how complicated your final publication needs to be.

Hiya mate, thanks for that reply and the attachment -much appreciated. Well, due to time restrictions I had to scrap that idea and send it off this morning without that function but it's good to know for next time.

Your method seems logical but I think it'd need some work to function the way I wanted it, i.e. there are about 30 answers to choose from, neither are deemed particular strengths or weaknesses. There are 5 boxes for strengths and 5 for weaknesses so it would've been difficult (...a bit confusing I know). Basically, someone could've seen one thing as a strength but it could be someone elses weakness so I wouldn't want it appearing at the bottom if it wasn't meant to be...

Either way, just been to the pub for dinner so fancy a relaxed afternoon

Cheers for your help! 8)
