If I create a video pub from scratch, text animations are greyed out.
If I create a standard pub, apply text animations and then change pub type to video I can export the animated text as avi.
I have to change type back to standard to be able to reselect text animations...
no harm done I suppose but a bit odd.
If anyone is interested you can then use movies 13 from jansfreeware.com to convert the avi into an animated gif, so complex gif animation becomes very simple.

maybe this was not such a good idea - I started to have problems opening the imp file. I think I've worked out that there can be a conflict between the saved version and the autosaved version because they may be two different publication types...
It would be good if Opus simply allowed the text animation in the video creator pub type, since it appears to work.
