I am using the opus flex option for a website.

I would like pages to be different lengths in the publication. I have therefore created several chapters. Each chapter has all pages with a set page length using the 'custom size' option in chapter properties (e.g. 1024 x 850 for pages in chapter1 and 1024 x 1300 for pages in chapter2).

This all works fine in preview, but after publishing and testing, it seems that all pages are set to the largest size, so for my pages in chapter 1 have a large blank space at the top and bottom.

As a check to find out what was going on, I deleted all chapters except chapter1. In this case, all pages now have the same page length (1024 x 850) and after publication and testing it looks OK.

Do all pages have to be the same size in flex publications, or am I going about this in the wrong way?

Try this and see if it gives you what you want.

With the Chapter Properties dialogue box open (where you've been setting the page sizes), make sure that the 3 parameters in the Resizing Panel at the bottom are unchecked.

Does that give you what you want?
