I searched, but didn't see anything on this specifically in the forum-

We have a number of CBT's for our facility that we're looking at moving over to Opus from another platform, but they need database connectivity and not all of the users will have permissions able to create their own DSN's on the computer.

(The other app allowed a DSN to be defined within the CBT itself)

Does the DSN have to be in place already on the pc, or do I need to look at connecting to the database through an ASP or PHP web page?

Thanks for your comments!

Scott K.

Opus: All between ver Pro XE 4.5 and Ver 9.62
OS: Windows XP Pro SP3
System: Intel Core2 Duo 2.67Ghz, Matrox Millennium G550 dual head graphics card
When we first started authoring CBT we used DSN to communicate with the server based data files, but soon moved over to ASP with commuication handled by Opus's PostWebData command. We got a whole shed-load of help from the good people who are regulars on this forum, so a search should find you all the info you need. :)

Thanks for that. The direction of the ASP pages was where we were looking at, and it may completely moot if we decide to move to publishing these to work under Flash.

Much appreciated!
