Every time i try to include a AVI video file opus 6 is hanging and i have to close to program and restart. When i use WMV files, i have no problem. What's the problem with the avi-format?

Are you sure you have the latest version of DirectX? Update if not sure.

Try this: Go to your Video Object. Open Properties and select the Video tab. Notice in the lower right corner under "Video Type" you can select "Change." Left click Change and select "On Top." This will force OPUS to use your Windows Media Player to display your AVI file. Since you report the files play under Windows without OPUS, it should work perfectly.

How did you create your AVI file? What software did you use? Not all AVI files are created equally. You may want to return to where you made your AVI file, and see if there are other options which will be compatible with OPUS. I have no problems using AVI or MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 with the OPUS Chroma Key option.

I'm no video expert, but this much I know is true...
AVI is not really a format, just a container. The codec of the video within that format can be one of many alternatives.
Downloading & using super© from www.erightsoft.com will install a swag of codecs which will allow you to convert your AVI to any other format you like.
The program is free, Open Source, intuitive, keeps itself updated with new codecs and highly recommended.
