Is there a way to set the scroll speed of the scroll to end action? Is it a scripting function? I have a long piece of text that has a narration and would like to scroll the text along with the narration. If I can fine tune the scroll speed that would be great.

Thanks

Hi Tom,

Never used the scroll action, but had a quick look at the action and it dosn't appear to be possible to set the speed directly from the action.

What you will need to do is setup a loop that waits a specific amount of time and then calls the next line action or command again.

Use the GetLineCount to work out the number of lines and use this in your loop to ensure that it runs for the right amount of time.

Mack

Well, I kind of have what I want using the autonarrate function and not changing the text style. But, I need to delete and the autonarrate for that particular piece of text and try again. I can't seem to getthe edit dialog to come up when I pick edit autonarrate. How can I remove the autonarrate and put a new one back on?

Tom -

You've typed text into a Text Object, then using the Text option at the top of editor toolbar (between Insert and Draw), you selected "Add Autonarrate."

When you want to edit your autonarrate, you need to again select/highlight the Text Object, then left click the "Text" option at the top of the screen again. There will be "Edit Autonarrate." Left click on it. It will open your "Edit Auto Narrate" window. You'll find a DELETE option which will clear the audio file you selected.

Quite awhile ago I posted a TIP to help people edit the audio file successfully -- start at the END and work backwards toward the beginning/start of the visual representation of the audio file. Drag the bottom line to the sound which matches to the text. Click on the text word and you'll hear the audio which will be played when that word is highlighted.

I also recommend using text which is centered in a Text Object which is much wider than normal. When words are highlighted they become BOLD which pushes/word wraps the rest of the text. You loose the effect if all the text keeps jumping from one line to the next. By using a wider Text Object, there is enough room for a line to expand when one word becomes temporarily bold.
