This is probably simple.

I've got text in a text box.
I've got a button.
I want to be able to press the button and the text will appear.

At the moment, the text is visible as soon as the page loads.

What should I do?

Text box "Properties" tab, click "Initially hidden"

Button "Action" tab, select "Show" in the window that opens tick Text_1

Go into the Properties of your Text Object. On the first tab (General) on the left side below "Name" you'll see "Intially Hidden." Tick this. Now your text will be hidden when the Page appears.

On a Button Object, go to the Actions tab. OPUS automatically has inserted a "Trigger" of "Left Mouse Click." That's probably what you want to make the text appear. Highlight Left Mouse... then on the right side of the window, select the Tab called "Actions."

The "category" in the left column list starts with "General." In the right hand column the first Action is "Show." Double-click it. You will see a new Tab called "Show" has been created. It lists all the Objects on this Page. Tick the Object which contains the text you want to appear, then click OK at the bottom right of this window.

That's it! For more impact, I would suggest on the Text Object properties that you click the Tab marked "Transistions." Tick the "On Show" box, then go to "More" and go through all the options, selecting the one you like best. Starting with version 5.5, you also have a Tab called "Animation" which gives you even more options to make your text appear. NOTE: you can ONLY use Transitions OR Animation -- not both on the same Text Object.
