Just thought that I would bring this utility to the attention of others.

The following link connects to the Illuminatus Forum that was operated by John Eccker before DW started their own forum.

Paul Gresham wrote two utilities that would list the contents of a folder (or folder and sub-folder) to a specified text file. The following is what Paul wrote. If Paul is still around I offer my thanks for DirList and FilesSub.

Hi All,
Here's a directory listing utility you might find useful.
It's parameter driven and runs silently with no window.
three parameters are needed for use:
dirlist.exe <directory_to_search> <file_pattern> <output_file>
If a path contains any spaces, surround the path with double quotes:
dirlist.exe <"directory_to_search"> <file_pattern> <"output_file">
Subdirectories are ignored, and a text file is produced containing the sorted list of files.
Will run on any Win 32 OS.
Run it without parameters to be reminded how to use it.
cheers
Paul

Thanks Leo,
I'd actually forgotten all about this source of information. There must be a lot of useful stuff in the old illuminatus forum
