Has anyone ever created a Ticker Tape that scrolls across the screen with multiple lines of data? If you have can you share it?

Some time back, Brenden (I think) produced a scrolling example for images.

This is a modification where the images are replaced with text.

Is this what you had in mind?

The direction of scrolling can be changed or stopped by moving the mouse.

OK. I can't download it either. May be a teething problem with the mechanics of the new forum.

The file is only small, so anyone who wants it should post an email address and I'll send it direct

There does seem to be a problem with the downloads, we only added the attachment feature a couple of days ago and it looks like it needs a bit of tweeking. We will look into this first thing Monday morning on our return to the office.

The download should now work correctly and all .imp files uploaded in future should be accessible without problems.

Apologies for any inconvenience.

Hi,

Thank you for your enquiry.

I'm not sure what happened to the original file and can only assume that the author removed the link.

Please find below a link to download a sample Opus Pro 04 publication which demonstrate two ways of scrolling text to create a ticker tape effect. The first page scrolls the text using simple 'Move Horizontal' actions, resetting both objects and repeating the movement once the first text box has passed completely off the left-hand edge of the screen.

The second page moves the text objects using a series of script actions which calculate the current position of the cursor, determine its distance from the centre of the screen, then move the text object at a speed proportional to this distance. This allows you to change the speed and direction of the scrolling text using the mouse.

I hope this helps. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further queries.

Kind regards,

Hopefully it'll help me to get my head round Opus coding versus flash style!
