Hi,

When I publish using Opus Flex I can set an Icon OK as the .swf loads.

The splash screen always has a black background.

Is there anyway to change the colour of this background (for example to match the screen the .swf is loading onto)?

Many thanks for an answer.

Martin

I have searched through all the help files and can find no reference to this issue.

Does anyone have any good ideas?

Currently I am thinking of changing the website backround colour to black so that the Flex .swf file loads against a sympathetic page colour.

Perhaps this is why so many flash based sites have black backgrounds!!??

Martin

Martin,

Can you post a screen shot of which black bit is causing the problem?

Mack

I'm not sure if I understand your question correctly, but this is what I think is the answer.

If you go to the properties of the publication and click on the Options tab, you will see a Surround Colour dropdown. If you choose a different color than white, then that color will show when the .SWF starts to load. You should also check the Page properties to make sure your background color matches your surround color.

At least that's what I think is your answer.

Many thanks Mackavi and Bwpatric.

EDIT: As soon as I posted this I went back to Opus and selected the publication properties in the main screen (previously I was looking in the Flash dialogue box for the information that bwpatric referred to) and of course I found the publication porperties -> Options -> Surround Colour, plus I also notice that I can use an image if I wish. So thank you for your advice and I have now solved the problem; apologises for appearing so dense!

Many apologises for not getting back earlier but I have had to attend to some other projects. I tried to find the surround colour drop down mentioned by bwpatric but failed.

I attach a couple of screen shots the first shows the flash file loading and the second the final flash header.

I managed to 'catch' the file as it loaded (very quick) it is the black part surrounding the blue loader bar that I wish to change to match the general background colour.

Note this is a sample and the final version will have a proper graphic above the loader bar.

Many thanks again and all the best for the New Year.

Martin
