Hi

Am hoping someone can help before I throw my computer out of the window!

I have created a interactive CD in opus pro 5 xe. It has worked fine on all previous versions I have published but now I have completed it and need to get it to the CD printers today it refuses to work!

The published file seems to work when I open it on my computer but the minute I burn it to CD it starts to autorun and a black box pops up and then closes and thats it. If I try and open it manually from the CD the same thing happens so I am not sure if it is a problem with the autorun or not.

The strange thing is if I choose to publish and then set it up as a programme for distribution this works fine too - even on CD. Trouble is I really don't want to do this - I just want the CD to work!!

Any help would be wonderful!

Thanks

Alison

Hi Ali,

I'm a little confused as to exactly what you've already tried. Are you using Opus' own CDR wizard - if so this does seem to work fine in the publication I tried.

When you say that you tested it on the computer was this as and exe or autorunning from a vritual CD (iso)?

Does you publication have to write to the drive at all - in which case, is it trying to write to a read only medium. i'm guessing this isn't true as you say that it runs from the CD - which I assume means you simply burnt the exe directly to a CD.

The autorun file is straightward enough. I'm attatching the test one from my IKIQ pub which runs the exe from the root.

Mack

Allison --

I have a new client who reported the exact same problem. My draft CD-ROM auto starts, a black Command Line/Run box appears, then nothing. The same CD-ROM works on other computers in his office, and it works on mine. I am quite sure it is related to anti virus software on his laptop. My client is going to have his IT expert take a look. It would make sense that ANY exe file is going to be rejected if it's not on an approved list within the anti virus program.

This is NOT an OPUS problem. Any program which runs an exe file which the anti virus software hasn't approved will do the same thing.
