Does anyone but me notice that button text after Flex publish is seriously mis-aligned vertically?

Is there a fix for this or am I missing a work around?

See attached for example.

Thanks for any info,
Bill

All the text vertical alignments go screwy when Flex publishing in my experience. It's more noticiable in buttons because they have a definate border.

The misalignment doesn't show up in the editior or the preview which makes it a bit of a pain in the rear to test for without republishing evry five minutes.

I tend to finish off the pub, publish it, see what's wrong then save a second copy of the imp to 'tweak' the text. This one looks misaligned int he opposite direction in the editor or if I publish it standalone but looks okay when published to flex.

I think it might just be a limitation of Flash's text handling or the conversion process. Bit of a niggle though

I agree that this need attention by DW. The text placement on standard buttons looks very bad when published to Flex.

This would seem a fairly significant issue to me, and hopefully DW will look into it.

I have also noticed on occasion that when changing a font on one page in a Flex publication, the font name throughout the pub will change too. I just have not had the time to document and send to DW.

I don't remember any of these issues in previous versions of Flex.

Hi,

Thank you for this information.

I have replicated these issues and have asked our development team to look into this problem as a matter of priority. This does appear to be a relatively recent issue and I do not recall this affecting earlier versions of the Flex export.

I will keep you updated with any developments.

Kind regards,

Any news on an update for this problem?

I have a flash publication which needs to be published soon.

I've spent hours trying to correct mislignment of text after a FLEX publish. It's particularly annoying when I use OPUS PRO 4 but not as bad when I use OPUS PRO earlier versions. To make the alignment in the FLASH file look reasonable I have to seriously misalign the text in the editing mode and publish with flex several times just to see how it will look!!!!! What a waste of time.

I've had serious porblems with variables too ... they work ok in editing mode and in published .exe version but randomly give errors when published with FLEX. I've been working on both problems for some time and have been in contact with DW.

I think there should be a serious investigation into flex publishing limitations with a good help file created. Ed

Sorry to hassle ... is there any news on whether the Flex problem will be sorted out quite soon? My reason for asking is that I have a lot of work that needs outputting to swf in the coming month. I will need to look at (and learn to use!) other tools if the solution is some way off.

Andrew,

It is my understanding that DW have taken this issue as a priority and that a fix is coming very soon.

I don't think we'll be waiting much longer.

Best,
Bill

Hi,

Thank you for your patience in this matter.

This problem has been resolved in Service Release 4 which is now available from the following location:

ftp://ftp.digitalworkshop.com/pub/opusu ... 04_SR4.exe

I have provided below screenshots of buttons published before and after applying this update which should confirm these changes.

After

I hope this helps. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further queries.

Kind regards,
