I am trying to make my interactive CD app work on Mac platform. I know that there are some features that don't translate to this format."Using Flex"
Below are features that I need to occur.

1. I have created a special cursor but in SWF the hand covers th cursor that was created.

2. Email links don't work

3. I know I need to use "launch web page". It works on some machines and others it doesn't

4. I would also like to have the web open up in "self" but no matter what option I choose it always opens up another browser window.

THX,

C

I'm assuming that you have already done so, but just in case you missed it...

Have you read the section Unsupported features in Opus Flex in the Opus Help files?

Yes I did and thanks- The biggest issue I am having now is that email and weblinks links are not working for me.

When I publish I am not getting any errors so I am sure the Flex allows for these simple functions.

I don't know if they are not working due to settings in Internet Explorer or something else.

THX,
C

Hi V,

I'm not a great fan of Flex (or Flash) but you should be able to do both of these things if the SWF is online.

In offline mode calling the webpage using http:// doesn't appear to work and removing the protocol tries to load a local page - so perhaps it's a syntax issue.

Anyway here's an IMP and the online published version is at.

I checked out your online demo and of course it works great. Question tho- While working in the Opus Pro mode I see the "Email" tab but when in Flex it is not there. How do you access the email tab in Flex?

THX,
Craig

Mack

I saw by your IMP that the email is accessed a little different in Flex.

Thank you

Hi Craig,

To create an email in Flex, use the "Launch Web Page" action, and, in the "address," use the "mailto:" syntax.

for example: mailto:xyz@foo758.com?Subject=information.

I set the "Destination Frame" to "_blank."

The "mailto:" syntax can be found at:

http://www.ianr.unl.edu/internet/mailto.html and other places on the web.

Since I have Outlook, clicking on the text with the launch action will launch my Outlook program and auto-populate the items that are written via correct "mailto:" syntax. (Not sure what to do to launch web mail: perhaps others can comment.)

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards,
