Digital Workshop

On the school of my daughter will be a competition in september, and for that i will make a pub to do several things.
There are 23 categories. Each category needs to be rated, and there must also be a text input for comments.
At the end the 23 points must be counted.
The score must be stored in an exel file including comments etc. so i need some colomns (i think)
Do i need to make a database pub, or did someone already inverted the wheel?

Hi Ad,

There is loads of database stuff on the forum including various tutorials. It's quite straightforward to build a DB publication using Opus built-in actions but keep the program on one machine and don't start trying to use Excel / Access files across a network.

However, you may want to think about using a flat database (text file) if the data collection is simple enough. If each student simply enters their name, rates and comments - this information could be saved as a CSV file and loaded into either Excel or Access at the end.
