I have 4 maps from which I need to create approximately 145 links using Hotspots or transparent buttons to selected pages. I would like to use the hand cursor but found when used in previous versions of Opus that the cursor jumped around when moved over a link. The 4 maps are png image files each on their own page.

Could anyone recommend what would work the best, buttons or hotspots, and has the jumping hand cursor problems from previous versions been corrected?

I have tested using 5 hotspots and 5 transparent button links and both seem to work OK in preview mode. I'm using Opus Pro 4.30 and plan to use the hand cursor that comes with Opus Pro.

Thanks for all input.

I am not aware of this issue. There used to be a problem with hotspots in publications which had been set to stretch to fit the screen, but this was rectified in one of the original Illuminatus Opus updates and should not affect Opus Pro 04.

We have also addressed a number of issues which could result in a 'flickering' cursor when positioned over hyperlinks or hotspots. Is this the problem you previously experienced?

Kind regards,

Robin,

No. If I recall the problem with the flickering hand cursor was with Illuminatus Opus 2 .6 or prior and it was when moved over any link, button, hotspot or hypertext. I quit using the hand cursor at that time and haven't tried it since. Unless someone reports differently I will use it for this project.

Thanks

I use the hand cursor as one of my "standard" cursors with a lot of active objects including hyperlinks, frames and images and hotspots.

Luckily, to date, I have not experienced the problems you describe.

I use Opus Pro 04.30 on Win 2000 Pro SR4
