Vector objects retain fill and transparency from previous publication

I completed the tutorial on the bouncing ball that Robin posted. In the tutorial we had to create a shadow for the ball using a vector object with a fill and a 50% transparency. Now I find that any vectors/hotspots I create has this fill and transparency which I have to remove.

Is this a feature that can be turned off? If not how can I fix this? I want to a hotspot without any fill.

Thanks

Hi,

Thank you for your enquiry.

I'm afraid that I cannot reproduce this behaviour.

For a start, the shadow in my tutorial was created using a Frame object, so I cannot see how this would affect the display of hotspots or vector objects.

Hotspots, by default, are filled with a semi-transparent colour as this indicates to the author (and to the publication) what area will be active and respond to the user. If the hotspot was not filled, only the outline of the area would respond to triggers and clicking inside the hotspot would have no effect.

I hope this clears up any confusion.

Kind regards,

Leo

Check the current active colour on the pallete as you begin to draw an object. Is this related to your problem?

Years ago, I remember having a similar problem which was related to the colours selected on pallette.

Just a thought.

Sentosa,

that was my vector fill problem. Once I changed the fill to clear it worked as I expected.

Thanks for the input on the flickering hand cursor post also. I've tried to stay clear of using hotspots, hyperlinks and the hand cursor after problems I experienced in the previous version of Illuminatus Opus. These features seem to work correctly in Opus 4.3 so I will give it a try.

Thanks again for the help,
