What makes this part (see attached image) of the Main Toolbar suddenly go blank?

This happens randomly. One moment these are green and active; the next they are inactive and black.

I uninstalled Opus, cleared the Registry, and re-installed Opus. Same issue.

Does anyone have any ideas of what might correct this?

One way to make this happen is to click on Component Galleries in the Organizer. Other than that, that is strange.

I am not aware of doing that, but I will take more care. Thanks

When a publication is running, the page/publication preview buttons will turn black. Sometimes it can take a short time before the application starts, or finishes and you will get some transient conditions. I think I have seen where a pub is mis-behaving it crashes, but the system thinks it is still running and you have to go to task manager to terminate it, But normally when you are editing, the page/pub preview buttons should be green and when you are previewing, they will be black. Depending on the speed of your machine, the complexity of the publication, it may take seconds for the publication to start or finish, during which time they may show transient states, but they should return to the normal state.
If it is happening at random????? that is strange?? Does it happen randomly when you are editing a publication??
When I click on the components gallery, only the page preview button goes black and it can get stuck in that state until you double click back on the publication page....so perhaps there is some quirky behaviour in there and you have found another way to trigger it??
