I am evaluating Opus Pro v6 for our office; we are very interested in it, and I'll admit to being a complete newbie! However I must ask - why is vector drawing such an agonizing affair?! DW must have an entirely different mindset from other drawing programs. I've used various other vector drawing tools, but nothing that adds so much complexity and seeming problems.
I cannot seem to group vector objects in a controlled way, or select and do anything with a group (for the purpose of moving, copying, stretching etc) yet objects seem to group and sometimes ungroup themselves randomly. Clicking on objects sometimes selects the object, a group of objects, or some strange group represented by a rectangular line much larger than the group it seems to contain (some of these are solid lines, others dashed). I cannot drag a fence around objects to select them, I have to click many times in different areas in order to select a single object, and vertical resizing of objects sometimes results in their complete disappearance! Some newly drawn lines refuse to be anything other than 50% transparent no matter how I try to change them. ... the list goes on.
In short, I find myself stumbling through a minefield of problems which seem utterly random and very strange. The help files do not begin to cover what I am experiencing. What is it that I do not understand and could I get a user manual that goes into more detail than the help file if we bought the program? Thanks for any help! :D
