How do you sort the publication (aLL) variables into alphebetical order? I cannot find a way to do this. I sort the list of varibles.txt and nothing happens. I sort the Test data.txt and nothing. I have 260 variables and am spending hours find variables in the list. I can't tell you the frustration this causes and the waste of time and money. I have been told there is a way to sort them.

Please help.

Hi,

Thank you for your enquiry.

The Variables list in the Publication Properties displays variables in the order they were created with all of the inbuilt system variables showing at the top of the list and any variables you have created showing at the bottom. If you wish to reorder any variables in this list, you will need to select the variable, click Edit, then click OK without making changes. This will push the selected variable to the bottom of the variable list.

However, when you actually need to use a variable, for example, when inserting a variable into a text box or applying a Set Variable action, all variables (including the system variables) will be shown in alphabetical order. If this is not happening on your system, I suspect you are using the older 2.81 version of Opus and would recommend upgrading to Opus Pro 04 or Opus Pro XE 04 to benefit from this functionality.

I hope this helps. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further queries.

Kind regards,
