Ok, heres a question Ive never been able to figure out.

Ive created a project that works fine that also uses variables.

However, during development, I always create this folder full of variables in the main "C" drive.

After publication, ( short of copying the folder full of variables ) into the same location on ANY computer the project will be used ( which is obvious ) - can I create variables in the project directory so that when its all published, Opus knows to go to the publication directiory to find these variables?

I keep thinking if I create a set of variables in the same directory Im developing my project in - when it comes time to publish, Opus will overwrite the folder and just ptoduce the final product, and wipe out the variables folders within - is this right ? I get a message saying something like " this folder already exists overwrite? "

any help please.

Thanks fellas.

Me neither :-) What are you trying to do? Variables are normally created in a script or in publication / page properties.

Can you post an example to clarify?

I make it a practice of naming or creating a new target folder each time I publish -- that way there is no confusion. Think of it as sort of a 'version control' similar to content management methods.

That said... I too do not understand this statement:

OpusPro is quite excellent at including what needs to be included. If you are doing something out of the ordinary (so to speak), you have two distinct opportunities to "Add Resources". One is found as a Tab under Publication properties. The other is found in the process of using the Publish Wizard (it is some advanced option or step there).

Good luck.

BTW, the full User Manual .pdf is an excellent resource.
