Hy

I am working on a publication over 5 years on my first pc , the hard disk is having problems so I want to move the publication into another pc .
I saved the publication and I consolidaded the resorces on my first pc ,
but when I load the publication on my second pc the opus gives me warning that there are 256 missing resorces.

What can I do so there are no missing resorces?

Both pc's have Opus 5.5 and win xp sr3 but different hardware ...
I don't want to use programs like HDD cloning

thanks

S,
I do not know the cause of the problems you experience,

However, if the older PC is still operating... here is something you can try.
Open your Pub in Opus.
Do a Backup operation (under File Menu I think)... which will generate a zip file.
Transfer the zipped file over to the new PC, and of course extract the files to whatever Folder you want for your working folder.
Open the .imp in Opus on the newer PC.

I thought of one thing you can check. Under 'Program Files' on the new PC, verify that the path to the Opus .exe is exactly as it was installed on the older PC. (ie, one might have a folder OpusPro 5 and the other OpusPro v55 or such). This affects how Opus finds program objects, textures, etc.

That said. The Opus Resource Manager is a great tool to resolve lost or unmatched resources. But in your case, I would troubleshoot and solve the issue as a 'migration problem' first. (I find the resource manager a little tricky to work with -- some trial and error for me until I got it right).

In my situation of migrating to a new PC, I found that once I opened a Pub and tried repairing the resources etc.... I created other minor problems for myself, such as duplicating some jpg and .doc files, or pulling them from other folders. A small mess. That's why I went the Zip approach. Clean.
