:?: I am using Opus Pro. I set a password for each level in the publication but it accepted it and then tried to get to the particular level it was prompting for a second password? Can anybody help? I would be more than happy to pass a copy to anybody who can help

Kind Regards
Cameron (Technical Teacher, Scotland)

Hi Cameron,

Welcome to the Forum. It would be useful if you can add some details to your profile mentioning your Opus Pro version, OS, other information, for example, video card, that may be needed for forum members to be more helpful.

If you have a sample publication, you can post it so others can take a look, offer suggestions.

Opus is a very stable, full-featured program often with several ways to achieve the same effects. So far, it is difficult for me to understand the specific password issue that you mention. But, add more of these details and, if possible, a posted file.

Kind Regards,

If by 'level' you mean 'Chapter', then it just might be the way Opus works. If you had...

Chap1 as Intro (no pw)
Chap2 subject blah-blah (pw xyz1)
Chap3 subject other blah-blah (pw xyz2)
etc...

If your student is going to start in Chap1, then Chap2, then Chap_n for example.... he/she will be prompted for each chapter's pw upon opening any page in that chapter.

However, if Chap1 were essentially a menu page or a table of contents page, and from there the student went directly to a page in Chap2 he would only be prompted for chap2 pw.

If that does not answer enough, do as Steven says and post your .imp file as an attachment here.

Cheers and Welcome to the forum.

Hi Stephen/Lar,

Firstly, thanks for replying. I am a complete novice at this. I am using Opus pro 5 ex. I will try to attach the file but I don't think it will include the Pics. I really appreciate you taking the time to help. I think I have attached the shortened version as the orig was too big.

Kind Regards
Cameron

Hi Cameron,

Hi had a quick look at your quiz and there were no passwords set so I'm unable to say what you might have done.

However, I set some passwords to see if it worked and every ran as I'd expect. Basically, every page in the publication needs to specified either with a password or as 'none'.

I simply set each main quiz page to a unique password eg "L1"; "L2"; etc and every other page to the "none" option. This allowed the publication to load and move through the pages except when I wanted a main quiz page and then I was asked for the password.

Mack

P.S The amount of animation is overkill and at one point crashed the publication because it was trying to do other things while I was answering a question.

Hi Mack

Thanks so much for the advice. I was "playing" with it seeing what it could do. As for the password I will try what you have done. It was prompting me for a second password which I possibly set somewhere but have np idea where.

Many Thanks again
Cameron
