I want to simulate a book page turn similar to Desktop Author as one of my clients have seen this effect and want it in the next pub I do. I know we have the page curl but is there a way to do a book page turn in Opus 4 XE?

This is possible in Presenter 04 and Pro XE 04 not NOT in Pro 04.

It is done by choosing from several Page Turn transitions.

BTW -- it helps if you always include what Opus product and version you use. This is simple: Just add it to your signature in your profile.

Thanks for the signature tip but I did mention I have Opus 04 XE. I have used the Page Curl but I need it to look like a book page turn i.e. where page turns in half screen of the pub.

If you have a video editing program that can do page turn transitions... do a screen grab of the screen as it looks at the end point before the transition, and one of the first look of the next page.

put this video on the next page as the first object and then hide it once it's played.. might work

I've done similair for other transition effects I've wanted. I used the page curl in Windows movie maker before it was available in Opus... though I've still not upgraded to XE so I'll carry on using it for now.

It also makes for smoother transitions!

I found this that might help too...http://www.canopus.com/us/support/pdf_tuts/photoalbum_tut.pdf

There are a few like that available in a powerpoint plugin called powerplugs transitions. It basically takes a screen grab of the end state of the page and one of the beginning of the next and makes a small movie file for the transition.. there are loads of them and all quite impressive.

I've used them in Opus by taking a screen grab of my Opus page and taking that into Powerpoint as a slide background image... then use a Powerplugs transition on the page.. it saves a video file that you can then use as a transition effect in Opus!!!

The new Powerplugs V has a turning page of book transition.. but it's not quite what you're looking for I don't think.

There a 5 volumes of transitions now - at $59.00 US each - but you can get bundles..

It might be worth a look.

It would be great if some of their products could integrate with Opus !!!!
