One more thing I must have missed or done wrong.

I have a separate button to install each of several files.

I set the Left Mouse Click Action (very careful - and i have done this many times now) to LAUNCH FILE, then I have selected the file to be launched ('in the LAUNCH THIS FILE' window). In the 'File will be found at this location' I set as <SYSTEM_CD_DRIVE>\folder name. On the CD/DVD, the file is placed in the appropriately named folder.

For 3 of the programs, this works fine. For the other three, it doesn't. I examined the 'LAUNCH THIS FILE' window - and for each of the failing programs, in front of the file name 'http://' had been added. I removed this, Published again - and the same thing happened again - after publishing, http:// has been added in front to the file names.

The programs concerned are
Open Office (I enter OOo_3.1.1_Win32Intel_install_wJRE_en-US.exe, and it gets the http:// added after publishing)
Audacity (same thing happens to the installation file)
Blender (ditto)

I have examined all the settings in the Publishing dialog, removed all compressions.

Something somewhere is adding the 'http://' to these three files - and only these three files.

I have been very careful to make sure I select Launch File as the action, and not Launch Web Page - and check all three are OK immediately prior to publishing. But after publishing - they've changed. Spooky.

This is going to be another slap-head occasion ... but it has beaten me.

Any suggestions would be welcome...

It gets stranger. I've checked that this isn't another 'pass-through click' problem by the way (!). As another 'check', I set the files correctly (with Launch File), saved the edit, closed it and then opened again immediately.

And the three culprits had changed to include the html:\\ again.

One thing I have noticed is that the 'cuylprits' all have 'win' as part of the file name. It's the only common feature I can find, so I am going to rename the files and see what happens.

Hi Mike,

All three programs have more than one dot (.) in the file name. Remove these and just leave the one for the extension. Like such:

OOo_311_Win32Intel_install_wJRE_en-US.exe

Thanks Mack - once again you come to the rescue. I didn't realise it was the 'dots' - I thought it was the 'win' (why? don't ask!) - but the dots make more sense.

I did a quick test changing the names to something really simple - openoffice.exe for example, saved, closed and re-opened, and there were no intruding htmls, so I guess the problem has been solved.

Mind you, I'd have thought it was 'win' doing the damage, not the dots ... :(

Just completed a publish and create a DVD with everything in the expected place, and at last, it works. With one day to go before the absolute deadline ...

I've learned a lot from this exercise - quite different from the usual 'tutorials' I do with Opus.

Thanks for all the help. Truly appreciated.
