I made a small application that uses a timeline to start and stop actions.
There are 2 simple actions that won't go smooth.
A bar is going from 100% to 0 in 10 seconds via script.
at 5 seconds before the end a text fades in, and there is my problem.
When the text appears, the bar stops until the transition is complete.
After completing the bar action goes on. Now there are only 2 actions to deal with, but my
idea is to make something that uses a lot more actions at one time.

I tried it on the fastest machine i have overhere.
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9500 with 3072MB 1333MHz DDR3 Single Channel and Windows 7.
All other computers that i tried give the same result, even an old one (8 years old) acts the same as the
newest Dell overhere.

Who has an answer because it's nessercery to know if i can use more actions at once without influencing
other actions. I need to make a count down and also have some other action at that time, how is the count down
ther reacting? is it slowing down?

Like to here from one of you.
Kind Regards,

Linda Danklof

If you're controlling the fade by script, it sounds like you've have the wait parameter set to true (default).

See Opus help.

Check what Mack said... one action must finish before another can begin (if you set that one argument in the Fade command to 'true').

Another possibility is if you applied a TRANSITION to the Text Object. There are some checkbox options when you set that up... that might give the transition effects full priority to finish before anything else happens. To see if this is part of the problem, simply Uncheck either the whole transition effect, or Uncheck the 'exclusivity' feature.

Hello,

Thanks for the reaction, but all the exclusive actions are off. I control the fades with the standard option not with a script.
But another problem i just saw is that when a clock on a page is running, and i will open a map using the function to browse,
the clock stops until i opened (in my case an MP3) and then goes on again.

It is hard to talk through all the possibilities with limited understanding of the workings of the pub and the various possible settings/options.

If you post your .IMP file, someone may be able to pinpoint the cause.

No they are not. They are on for both the show / hide texts in the sample you posted. If you turn them off, the bar scales without pausing. See screen shot.
