Im having a real hard time ( it seems Ive spent way too much time at work and not using Opus 6.0 ).

I understand and can use the drag & Drop feature when the target fits on the page - no problem.....however! my issue is with dropping items on a target that is LARGER than the screen can fit.

Heres where Im stuck - Im creating a HUGE map and wanting to put about 6 dots WITHIN that map ( the dots are the dragable objects and the MAP is the target ) - in other words make the "dots" STICK in the position they were dropped onto, and become "part of " the map.

Because the actual "map" is way bigger than the screen can display, I firstly created a frame, then added both vertical and horizontal scrollbars, then INSIDE that frame, I created a picture frame ( with the map as the image ) - and set the picture to view in full size - which is huge and then stretched the image beyond the borders of my initial frame till it was full size.

I can easily scroll around the map to any location using the scrollbars.....BUT when I make the PIC the "dropzone" my "dots" wont "stick" and instead just remain within the picture frame at the same location so as I move the "map image " around the dot stays still instead of "sticking" and moving along with the actual map.

Any ideas? :?:is there anybody out there that has tried this?....I cant seem to find an answer in the archives...

thanks in advance for any help on this one.

The source of the problem does not immediately jump out at me. Let me ask you to try something.

Change the properties of that larger Frame so that is not a drop zone. Then create a rectangle vector object that size and make it the drop zone. Then try your exercise. (I doubt this will make any difference, but it is a cheap try. I have noticed some odd behavior before when I had a sliding frame contain a text object... so in this case I would just bypass frame for the moment.). You can still use the Frame to hold your image, but you could instead assign the map image as the Background of the Vector.

I am not inclined to test this or duplicate the problem since I am on Opus v7, and I do not know what your system configuration is nor what Opus version you are using.

Firstly, thanks for the prompt reply my friend :)

I tried your suggestion but thus far, sadly to no avial. as expected, the " dot " will recognise the fact that its on the drop zone but as the "map" moves...the "dot" stays stationary and still dosent lock on to the drop zone. ( the thing that makes me crazy about this is that I remember actually achieving this with Version 2.6 ! ) Ive sent an e-mail off to ddww about it and hope that some support arrives soon...I only have 3 days left to deliver this project as a Demo with the possibility of a much better position of employment. but again I do thank you for your help, your a champion.

Im hopful there is an answer out there for this one -but it still evades me.

With respect to your quote

Im guessing it must be pretty late over there / or early ..the reason for this is that located at the bottom of all my posts is my system and config :P

But I can understand if you missed it - as I said at the on-set of my original post, I have been spending too much time working ( at work ) - an NOT spending enough time using opus ( refering to not having much time off for leisure time. )

Again, many thanks - as always you are one of the most helpful people ON this Forum!

Yes, I missed your mini-profile.

Since you face a deadline, here is a sample pub that seems to work fine for me. (it is Opus 6.4 -- as far back as I can go on this system)

Cheers.

Yes and it works.

Everything that needs to move must be inside the master frame with the scrollbars - including the map, the pins and drop zones.
