I'm playing with the autonarrate feature.

The edit autonarrate dialog box has an autostart checkbox that is ticked by default.

Unticking it will delay the autonarrate - useful for hidden autonarrated text.

Reading the help file about how to edit autonarrate it says in part "If you untick this option, the Autonarration will only play if you add a Play Autonarration action to the page or an object on the same page as the Text object"

Clicking on the Play autonarration hyperlink gets the following advice

"Play Autonarrate Action

The Play Autonarrate action is used to start an autonarration for a specified Text object.

Note:
This action is only relevant if you have set up an autonarration for a piece of text.
Setting up the Play Autonarrate action:
1. Add the Play Autonarrate action to your trigger, as described in adding actions. The Play Autonarrate tab will automatically appear when you add the action.
2. Click on the name of the text object in the text object list that you want to use this action with"

Does anyone know where the "Play autonarration" action is. I can't seem to find it.

Failing that, maybe there is a scripting solution - that is my next investigation.

Thanks

Graham

It's under the TEXT actions.

Thanks Mack.

Just discovered the play autonarration action is indeed in Pro but not in Flex according to what I'm seeing on the screen.

It appears that you can add an autonarration to flex in the editor but as I've just learned, when the flex file is published, the autonarration does not work.

If this is the case, then shouldn't all the Opus features that Flex cannot play be disabled so that the person who is creating the publication is not fooled into incorporating features that cannot work after publish? The autonarrate seems to work fine in preview although I should qualify this by saying that it works fine on the first page but not on the second page.

Cheers

Graham

Didn't realise it was flex.

Don't preview in flex. Get out of the habit! Get used to quick publishing and checking it in the browser or better, Flash Player.
