I have creaed buttons that cause popup boxes containing running video to appear. A user can open several of these at any one time. These boxes can be dragged around, enlarged and closed, The problem that is occurring has to do when more than one window is open at the same time. When these windows overlap eachotherm you will see the video image in teh window beneath it come through the video window on top. Anyone know how to get around this?

I'm using windows 7 and OPUS v7.
I have noticed a pattern when opening popup video windows in preview mode; the first time you open a popup window you may see images come through even though "initially hidden" has been selected. Upon closing and reopening the individual popup windows however, the problem no longer exists.

Cheers Leticia,

That eliminates several potential problems.

I'm afraid that when I tried to replicate what I think you're doing, I didn't have the same problem.

I created a new publication. Created several chapters that opened in the new windows and placed an MPEG1 video on a page in each of these chapters - set to Chroma.

On the first page of the first chapter, I added some buttons that would launch the other pages. When I preview, I can load several videos in new windows and move and overlap them without problem.

Can you expand on your method, post screen shots or even as sample publication?

Mack

Thanks for taking a look Mac.
I am attaching the imp file and a screen shot of the type of erro I keep getting. for you to take a look at. It's hit and miss, sometimes It works and sometimes it doesn't.
FYI: I'm using avi files.

Hi Leticia,

Okay, got the wrong end of stick. I thought you were using windows but they are frames on the same page.

As it's quite a complex publication, it's not really possible to solve without looking at the original. However, there have been several other posts that have this same problem and the three things to look at are:

The layering - does your video appear on top - as defined in the tree or setlayer.
The video type - IE Chroma, Rendered - also note that video uses an overlay, but only one at a time is supported and you have multiple videos on screen!
The video encoding - this normally affects step two.

I'd start by turning off the overlay on all the videos and then trying rendered. If you still cannot find the right combination, then it may be possible to structure it slightly differently and use windows instead. This involves putting the videos on different pages and setting the chapter properties to launch them in new windows. The same as an Internet Browser load different pages in new windows.

I would suggest reading back over some old posts and these highlight specific issues with different format types and see out scribble on videos: http://www.live.interaktiv.co.uk/index. ... Itemid=166
