Whilst trying to complete a quick job, this is driving me mad....

I have a text box with a single bullet point.

- How do I make the wrap around text on the second line indent as the bullet point does?

- How do I add even more space at the start of the second line if I want? Just putting spaces in seems to do nothing.

Attched done in latest XE 4 Pro.

Thanks, Linda

Goto the Paragraph Settings and set the special indent to hanging and the value to 30 should get the text to be left aligned after the bullet. If your bullet is bigger or you default tab size has been changed from 30 you will have to make the Hanging indent larger (should be a multiple of the default tab size).

Hi Linda,

Thank you for your enquiry.

After some experimentation, I believe I have found the best way to achieve this. However, I have also uncovered some quirky bullet behaviour which I will ask our development team to look into.

The best way to ensure that all text is aligned alongside the bullet seems to be typing all of the required items into the text object BEFORE applying the bullet points. Once all items have been inputted into the box, simply select the text object, then select the required bullet style from the drop-down. All of the text should now be shifted to the right by the width of the bullet graphic.

To add additional 'padding' to a single item in the list, simply highlight the line you wish to alter, then click Text > Paragraph. Now set the Special Indent option to Hanging and set the value to required amount.

Kind regards,
