Opus: 7
OS: win 7
Hi everybody,
I run Opus (updated) on a Xeon X3450 2.8 GHZ, 16Gb RAM, Win 7 64bit HP Z200 Workstation. The problem is, whenever I start Opus it takes always in excess of 2-3 min to load. Another curious behavior is that there are no Application Icons associated with Opus. Question is, am I missing something here?
Any help would be most appreciated.

George

Hi George,

It's not W7x64. On my desktop with SSD, it loads in about 4 seconds and on a my laptop it still only takes about 25 seconds.

I'd look at your anti virus firstly as there used to be an issue of them causing problems. Also, is the HDD healthy?

The application icon has been broken for ages :-(. I ended up assigning one manually.

Mack

I do not have a direct answer for you, and I have not jumped into Win7. But I'll toss out an experience I had sometime back on a WinXP or Vista system. When I did not install OpusPro with the default path, I think I had some difficulty with toolbars and maybe with icons. At the time, I also had left an older Opus version installed -- e.g., had Opus v6.x and was installing Opus v7.0 additionally.

I uninstalled that v7 and emptied the directory, did a system restore just as an extra step to get Windows back to where is was... then installed Opus again using the default directory. Those little anomalies I experienced went away, and both old and new Opus could be run.
