I am working on a web-based publication and my testing so far raises two questions on which I would appreciate advice from other more experienced users -

2. Given that it takes a while for he file to download, I am wondering if there is any way to show a download progress bar. At this stage I am using an opening screen with various comments appearing to fill in time while the download progresses.

Any suggestions?

Any help greatly appreciated.

If you are creating a Flex publication (or I guess IO plugin based one) when you publish you have the option of adding a splash screen. Press Control+Enter to bring the up the Publish dialog box. Work through it till you get to a point where you see a Settings button. Click on the Settings button.
This pops up another dialog box. Click on the Options tab on this dialog box. Click on the Splash Screen checkbox. Choose a Default or Custom as you wish. Click on the OK button. Continue through the Publish dialog box and publish as normal. When you run your publication, you should see a progress loader for it. Keep in mind that if you are testing this locally, you probably won't see the loader since things are loading faster than they would on the net.

Hope this helps.

Thanks bwpatric,

It may be an issue with Opus Pro 2.81. I have tried all the options but the only progress indicator I can produce is a numerical display in the standard IE6 status bar at the bottom of the window.

A couple of other issues arise -

Even if I select to publish as a single file, this progress indicator seems to show progress for for each chapter, rather than overall. (It doesn't actually indicate what it is showing the progress for but it does seem to show three stages and my test publicaton has three chapters.)

If I choose to include a splash screen it only shows very briefly, unrelated to the actual download time. If I publish seperate files AND use a splash screen, The splash screen appears for each file download.

Other than that it all works fine.

I wonder if these issues will go away if I upgrade to Opus Pro v4.5?
