hi,

i have buttons witch play sound when mouse over it.
i have a video with a on/off sound button (for mute video).

1- when i use "change volume apply to all wave sound", i can mute the video but there is no more sound on the button (logical)
So, i'd like to put the sound of the video on a specific channel (1,2,3....)
but i don't know how to do that.

what is the solution ?

Thank you
Benoit

Hi,

Thank you for your enquiry.

One workaround would be to separate the soundtrack from the video file (using a video editor or utility like VirtualDub), and play this soundtrack at the same time as the video using a Play Sound action set to a particular channel. You can now set your button sound to a different channel and control each file's volume with ease. However, you would need to ensure that the soundtrack is stopped and restarted at the correct position whenever the user changes the video position.

Another solution would be to use a MIDI file for the button sound. This should not be affected by changes to the Wave channels, allowing you to set the video volume without problems. However, as many soundcards use different MIDI soundbanks, there is a possibility that your buttons may sound slightly different on some machines.

Kind regards,
