Hi there!

Not sure if it is possible, but is there a way of saving a screenshot of your publication's screen as .jpeg or .png to a chosen directory?

Say i click on a button "Save image", it should take a screenshot of the screen and then ask me where I want to save the image.

Is there a way?

Thanks! :D

It's built-in to Opus - looking under miscellaneous actions.

Do you mean the "Save Screen as Image" action?

If so, if I choose that option - what should the Filename Destination be if I want the Image to be saved on a user's desktop? Or at least give him/her the option to open the destination folder?

Thanks!

Yes, save screen as image.

Personally, I'd give the user the option of the location and / or give them the option to set that path as a default for future saves.

Yes, giving them the option is better. But how do I do that? While testing it, it does not give me an option to choose where to save the image.

Thanks!

Actions > File Management > Directory Browse.

Save their choice to a variable and use that variable in the path for save image.

I must be doing something wrong because: when I'm using the "Directory Browse" action I give it a description, store the result in the variable (example: myScreenshot)

Then I add the Save Screen as Image action and choose the destination as the variable myScreenshot.

Am I missing a step?
I've attached an example.

Thanks!

The path should be

Code:
<myScreenshot>\background.jpg

You can also use the Save as Browse, if you want the user to specify the file name.
