Well, seem MS has monkeyed with another good thing and I can't seem to get it to package the viewer and a PPT as a single file as one used to be able to do.

So, tried to use the ppsx function to set a show to run in show mode without going through PowerPoint and DocView doesn't support it. It works fine if you click on the file, but if you open it through DocView it insists on launching PowerPoint. No good...

So I tried using the launch file action to launch the viewer and the parameter function to pass the /S "X:\Software\Opus\Presenter\Presenter Resource\PDC.ppt" parameters and it doesn't work...though it works on a command line in DOS. My assumption is that Opus doesn't recognize the " " parameter for the pathname as per PPT itself.

Tried a few other things to, mostly "Hail Marys," with no luck.

I really need to be able to launch a PPT file with viewer in a frame or DocView. Is this possible or not? It would be even better to get Opus able to recognize the ppsx files and open them as they are supposed to within DocView.

While it's possible to launch the PPT directly, it then has to be "F5" to show and then cannot be minimized or maximized via Opus variables as I need to do as two windows, the app and the show, are open.

Dave

Could you, or would you want to, convert the PPTs to Flash and then play the Flash in DocView? There are a number of good PPT to SWF converters around and I believe some are even free.

Just a thought. Probably not the way you wanted to go, but...

Thanks, BW, but as you suggest I'd like to stay clear of Flash.

A mod to accomodate the ppsx format would be excellent for all. While I am no software engineer it doesn't seem like this should be a big deal.

I remain convinced there should be a way to do this as Opus is, I just haven't found it yet.

Hi Dave
Although this is a relatively old post, I would really like to know if you solved this problem
I also need to run ppsx slideshows seemlessly from an Opus interface.
