I've built a Windows based program which runs from a thumb drive. It has an opening Password screen. Each year, more viewers have Mac computers. I placed all the PDF file into a ZIP file (Mac.zip) with a Password. My client says people with Mac computers are confused when they view the thumb drive on a Mac.

I've thought about having a README.TXT file with directions for Mac users. What other options are there? The answer needs to be simple, yet able to allow both types of computer users (PC & Mac) to access PDF files. TIA

Hi Fred,

Not sure there is any good answer.

It's one of the problems left behind when people starting using the Internet.

If I think back to just before that, I do recall working with HTML that was launched from the CD so it would run on both systems. If you need a front end, you could try a simple HTML page that launches password protected PDFs. Between the PDFs, the USB and the local HTML, I've bad feeling you might hit security restrictions on modern systems though :-(

Regards,
