Hi !

I've converted a pub from OPus Presenter 2.81 to Pro 4.5 and now experience some drag and drop problems that worked great in the earlier version.

I have a wordsearch exercise where students are to drag the pink rectangles to the wordsearch and drop them over words. I've highlighted the drop areas so that you can see where they are. In the example below the horizontal objects , when dropped over the words "rights" and "bus" stay there (the objects accept them) .

But the other two ("march" and "racist" ) do not stay put even though the boxes are set to accept these objects. I can't explain why the horizontal ones work and the others don't !

Can anyone help ? I've attached the IMP below

Hello Klaus,

The two vector objects "racist" and "g-march" have been rotated in the editor, which seems to have upset the: "Objects must fit inside drop zone" option. Disable this option on the associated drops zones and it will work fine. The snap to centre will still work. :)

Happy Easter blessings!

Hi Steve !

Thanks for your look into the IMP. I don't want to disable the "Objects must fit inside the drop zone option" because then you could drop the box any where near the associated word and it would still snap.

I've tried to make new draggable objects and all of them work, so the problem must be the old ones that were rotated and then imported into Opus 4.5

Maybe DW could take a look into this after the holidays :D

Happy Easter to you too and thanks once more

I've done a bit of "research work" over the past few days and have found out the following:

The strange drag and drop behaviour is not restricted to imported PUBs from older versions. It happens in Pro 4.5 as well.

As long as you do not rotate a vector object in the editor everything works out fine. But when you rotate an object (like I did in the above WordSearch sample) and make it draggable it only snaps into place if the option "Object must fit inside drop zone" is deactivated.

DW, can you confirm this ? and
Can you figure out some kind of workaround ?

Hi Klaus,

Prior to your subsequent post, I also discovered that the problem is evident and have already emailed DW Support.

Yes!:D Instead of rotating the vector, select the polygon and rotate that in the editor. You will note the vector object boundary may appear larger, but it retains its "unrotated" origin and only the polygon is rotated.

See if that helps.

PS: Depending on how big the boundary box is, compared to the drop object, you might need to tick the "ignore transparency area" on the Properties Tab. ;)

Aha! I was initially having problems reproducing this issue, but I was always rotating the Polygon rather than the vector object. I have now replicated the problem and have asked our developers to investigate further.

Kind regards,
