I'm about to start working with video files for the first time in Opus. Most of my files are quite small and are in .avi format., which I know Opus doesn't play. Can anyone share their preferred approach to this task?

Opus does play .avi format.

Sorry...should have said that I'm exporting everything via Flex...none of my .avi files appear when I do this.

You can't run videos inside a Pub when you have chosen to use the Flex applicaiton inside Opus. Just do not have this capability.
What you can do is create buttons to launch webpages where you can embed the video files you got, but I suggest try to change format from avi to mpeg ( I don't know if you need them to be in avi...).
