I am trying to compare two strings: one being effectively a pre-set value read in from an external file (e.g. "4.09.00.0902"), the other a registry value on the user's machine (e.g. "4.10.00.0000"). Comparisons could be equal-to, greater-than or less-than. These are mainly version numbers for third party utilities, so formats will vary. What's the best way of handling comparisons between the strings? Thanks.

Linnet,

Simply read the two strings into variables then use a simple if statement from the Programming tab to compare the two values.

Thanks - I should have clarified however that this was a scripting requirement, and I've not been able to get consistent results from anything I've tried as yet.
