Interaktiv's latest program, a word game called Scroggle is now in a final stage beta.

Built from scratch using Opus Pro 6.0, Scroggle is must have for lovers of word games everywhere.

Features include:

1. Various level dictionaries from first words to walking thesaurus
2. Save and return allows playing the game in your own time
3. Clues - to give a little extra help for those tricky words
4. Online word lookup using custom dictionaries
5. Foul filter prevents spelling of expletives

For about a week, regular board members who enjoy the game, can request an unlock code - free of charge - by emailing us their registration information to general(at)interaktiv.co.uk

Your unlock code will remain the same for the final release :-)

Any questions or comments welcome.

Mack

That is a very generous download Mack - Thanks very much

Great game - very addictive. Lovely graphics as well!!

I know this is a beta, so with this in mind, please disregard any comments below which do not apply

Couple of suggestions.

1. User Instructions are needed.

2. When the game is solved, you need some kind of reward for the user.

Perhaps there could be some kind of firework graphic, or maybe you could time the game and have a best time screen appear where the winner types in their name alongside the best solved time. You'd also need to add a time penalty for those who get a hint maybe.

3. Don't forget to brand identify your software so people know who made it!

4. I'm not sure what purpose the uo and down arrows are for. I know you can use them to scroll up and down the words you have formed, but does this have any functionality for the user?

Playing instructions

For those who want to download and play, the object of the game is to form horozontal words using the letters located on the left of screen. To select a letter, simply click then drag it to a blank leter holder box and click to drop.

The objective is to constuct words that are in the puzzle. If you correctly construct a puzzle word, the letter boxes will change colour when all the horozontal line boxes are filled. If the word is incorrect, the letter boxes will not change.

To remove a letter, left click on the letter.

This game just shows you how powerful Opus is

The game is also a testimony to the immense skill and awesome talent of the author.

Well done Mackavi!

Cheers

Graham[/b]

Cheers,

Addictive is definitely the key word. I spend more time playing than creating, but then maybe that's a good sign.

An instructions PDF is included and should have created a shortcut to the desktop as well as the start menu???????

Yes a better reward is needed. Timed games are a bit problematic because technically, you could just up the number of clues and cheat - but if anybody has other ideas, they're welcome.

Oddly, have only just taken Interaktiv of the splash screen as it was a tacky effect, but will add something in the final - thanks for the reminder.

The up and down are just to scroll through the word list, but I might allow them to be printed. Can't really think of anything else that they might be needed for, but then that's why it's being beta tested :-)

Glad you're enjoying it.

Mack

Aha - now I see the instructions pdf

I just went to the desktop shortcut on the main windows screen to play and did not go through then windows menu system so did not see the instructions. Sorry!

With scoring perhaps as an idea you could add say a 20 second penalty for the first clue, 60 seconds for the second and maybe 120 seconds for the third.

Just an idea. Hopefully other Opus forum members will come up with better ideas.

Here is another idea. I recon you might be able to sell a customised version of your game to a big company such as British Airways who select words that are tied to some kind of global promotion and have a competition where the winner with the fastest time gets a prize. You could logo the customised version etc. This could be a great interactive marketing tool with lots of potential.

Cheers

Graham

Huge thanks to all that beta tested Scroggle and those that requested an unlock code.

Hopefully, the final release will be sometime this or next week with the new featues and various issues fixed.

For those in education, there is a completely free lite version of scroggle that is now available from the website or http://www.interaktiv.co.uk/index.php?o ... &Itemid=43

It uses a selection of sightwords for primary education here in the UK. Ages 6 - 10 would be learning these. I'll post the link to the current full version as and went it's finished.
