We haven't transferred the old Showcase site to the new server so it is not currently available.

To be honest I always found the design a bit self-indulgent and over the top. We'll be rebuilding it with more emphasis on practical web solutions but in the meantime we're adding more and more showcase items to this site. Now that the focus of the new business has changed it seems more appropriate.

Nice one.
If that's what you thought of their work, no wonder you gave them the shove

Oh, thats a shame. Being the MD couldn't you of done something? Didn't you give the designers a brief.

I always thought the design was ok - although it was kinda slow - but I put that down to the way that Opus exports the Flash file.

Await your new offering with baited breath though.

btw Paul, What is the new direction of the company? has something at DW changed that I've missed?

Absolutely! But as you point out, other people, including the designers, liked it. There's not much point in employing people if you don't devolve some responsibility to them. Of course, responsibility is a two way street.

The change at the company is that the distribution business has gone into administration as Corel terminated our contract on Paint Shop Pro. Some of us bought out the development part of the business, so DW is now focussed entirely on our own products. Perhaps not a great change of direction on the face of it but more significant impact will become apparent over the next few months.

Paul

I am a bit late in responding to this post  , but I'm really glad that DW is focussing on supporting and developing its product line. I look forward to the new showcase site with its practical examples of how to use Opus products effectively. Thank you and keep up the good work!
