When creating a standalone application, how do I ensure that my user can create a database. My current program will create a database from which I can add records, delete records etc but, when I create a publication for distribution, I can't see the records I have saved. I note that Opus uses Access to create databases. Any guidance would be appreciated.

The user can't create a database on the fly I mean on the Run Time. The database which you created when you design the program .If you publish it as a standalone you'll find that Opus includes the database with yor standalone program.

However you can create a table in Access using scripting. What you can do is create a access .mdb file (blanc). Create a DSN connection to this file. Now use the CREATE Database syntax to create a table. When the user start the pub. you can add a function in the script which creates this table.
