I have created a 'Family Fortunes' gameboard for some teachers in my authority. The question cam back could they have a version where they could edit the questions themselves. I was wondering if there were an easy way for me to have a question editor that stores questions in a file that the main program could read from the same file. I can do it by creating a file for each variable but that seems a bit cumbersome. Any ideas?

What Opus product and version are you using?

Answers are often predicated on responders having this info.

Next time you log on, please consider clicking on Profile (near the top of the page under Digital Workshop, and completing the Signature section with at least the Opus Product and its version number.

Doing this should ensure that you receive better advice.

Hi lloydml,

I would suggest using INI files. If yo've got Opus VI then you can read and write them, failing which Opus 5 will just read them. For quiz based tasks, they really are brilliant.

Example INI

[1]
Name five things that..
thing one
thing two
thing three
thing four
[2]
Name five things that..
thing one
thing two
thing three
thing four

By using a counter, you simply call the entire section under 1,2,3, etc and this information is read into an array. This array can then be split backup.

Just one question, how do the contestants give answers at the moment? I can see this be great in a multi-monitor environment where the teacher see one screen and the students see the IAWB. Perfect of Opus VI.

Mack
