Hello

I am running a big standalone publication for students. When they log on they get lot of information via PostWebData and ASP from an ACCESS database. When they log out, new information are sent to the database. This all works fine.

But now the problem. I want the students progress registered by getting the time from the server. Works fine once, but when done again the variable is not updated. I have tried both ASP and PHP - same problem.

I wonder if someone could help, I hate work-arounds!

Please try the links:

http://www.ekill.is/fjarnam/Fjarnam/getnuna.asp
http://www.daimi.au.dk/~u060593/Prufa/Dags2.php

They both work fine in the browser.

Then please have look at my Opus file attached and tell my what is wrong!

Regards
Jonas

Just noted: the time I picked first time are the same being displayed even after stopping/starting the pub

19:28:34

17:31:23

didn't work... just checking again

Can I see the php file...
Definately on Opus, for some reason, It is holding onto the collected values for a while, tried to reset all variables, but still picking that data...

Can you put an alert in the php to display on browser to confirm that next time you click on button, the "fetch" is done......

Hello

Do the variables really update when you run my publication? By me they only update normally in the browser, not when i run the publication.

Jonas

The method you are using seems to be picking up what is in the browser
cache.
I've used the InternetPostData() function that works correctly.

cheers
Paul

Thank you - thank you Paul!

After I posted my question I found out that the publication was always picking information from the browser. If I put a hidden browser on the page, running the PHP page and then run the PostWebData it always picked up the new information from the browser.

I did not even think of scripting this as you do, I thougt that InternetPostData() would work the same as PostWebData.

Also thanks to you "eomc40". I changed my browser settings and now things are working. BUT it is impossible to depend on my students computers and their browser settings!

I do not know if this can be called a BUG, but it has cost me a lot of trouble, and I am afraid I might not be the only one!

Thanks once again
Jonas
