Hi,
I wish to emphasis/focus on specific parts of a presentation and would like to use a zooming box or outline shape.

I have achieved partially what I would like using the transition "3D, Zoom Settle". See example attached file.

However, I feel that the rotation could be bit annoying to the audience so I would like the box or shape to Zoom in without rotating.

Is there a transition or other means to achieve this effect.

In my presentations I would use more subtle colours an control the transitions appropriately

Might I suggest that you use the "Search" link at the top of the page to see what has been posted on "magnify" or "magnifying". I recall some posts/tutorials that just might be of use.

Can you attach the imp as well?.
If you try some of the QuickAnim (RH pane of the actions tab) they comprise simultaneous action groups, so you can fine tune the effect by adjusting the individual actions. You might find something in there. I find that using the ease in/ease out speed control gives a more gentle effect to a transition

I came here looking for advice on just this issue, and having done a search I found this in the tutorials section.

I have worked through this and it works very well. However The problem is that the enlarged view is just a digital enlargment of the main image, this means that it is pixelated. Is there any way to show a higher resolution version within the 'magnifier', one that really displays more information?

What happens if you start with a higher resolution image?? is it less pixelated---it could be a function of the original rather than the zoom

Ah ha yes, I had chosen an image that was only a little bigger than the screen resolution, therefore when enlarged it had pixelated anyway

When I did it again with a much larger image all worked fine.
