Authorware is going away. Adobe is stopping further work on it.

It's been widely expected; it's lacked any direction for the past 5 years or so.
I thought that Director was going to meet the same fate, being killed off by Flash, but Director 2007 is supposed to ship last quarter this year.

I guess I wasn't aware it was on life suport. It's just weird to me, because I always considered it the grandaddy of all the computer based training software, and it sort of makes one nostalgic/sad that the field has/is changing so much. It used to be you put the whole thing together and had great flexibility/say in how it looked and worked, but now it's "get it done tomorrow" with rapid development tools and lots and lots of templates. Oh well, you've got to go with the flow.
